Aqua Parks and Family Days Out in Hurghada
Families choose Hurghada for more than the beach. Between water parks, an aquarium, indoor play and boat trips, there is enough to fill many days.
Water parks
Pickalbatros Jungle Aqua Park is on the road to Safaga. Its own website describes it as the largest aqua park in Egypt and the MENA region, with 81 water slides and 45 swimming pools, plus a surf pool, crazy river, a kids’ aqua park and other attractions. TripAdvisor also lists Makadi Water World (slides for adults and children), Sindbad Aqua Park (with animation and entertainment), Sliders Aqua Park (wakeboarding and cable park), PrimaSol Titanic Aquapark and 5 Springs Aquapark. Several resorts also have their own aqua parks, and some admit day visitors, so ask before you go.
Hurghada Grand Aquarium
The aquarium is on the Village Road. It combines an aquarium, a zoo and a jungle area, with a walk-through tunnel where you can see sharks and rays and chances to feed some of the animals. It is on Villages Road, Km 12. Opening hours are listed around 9 am to 7 or 8 pm, so check before you go. Reviews on TripAdvisor are mixed: visitors like the tunnel and the close animal contact, while some find the enclosures small, so decide whether it suits your family. Grand Gate is about 6 km from the aquarium.
