Soma Bay: A Plain Guide to the Private Peninsula Resort
Soma Bay is a self-contained resort peninsula on the Red Sea, about 45 km south of Hurghada International Airport and roughly 28 km north of Safaga port.
What it is
The peninsula is about 5 km long and 2 km wide, and is reached by a 7 km private road through a single controlled entry gate. It covers around 10 million square metres and includes several residential compounds as well as the resort infrastructure.
What is inside
Six resorts operate there, including Palm Royale, Kempinski, Sheraton and Robinson Club. There is an 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course designed by Gary Player, a golf academy, diving and water sports such as windsurfing and kitesurfing, and one of the region’s largest spa facilities.

People who want a private resort setting with golf and water sports and who are comfortable being some way from the city.
